VA celebrates its tenth Anniversary in Grand Style

Ten years of achievement is not something easy to come by. It is on this background that the Academy rolled out a lot of activities to thank Allah and appreciate those who made the success story. The first programme held was the graduation of those who have memorized Surah Ahqaaf to Naas. The epoch making event took place on 14th July 2012 with eminent personalities in attendance. Next to this was the Press Conference held on 3rd November 2012 at the school’s liaison office Jibowu, Yaba Lagos. Many media houses were invited which in turn disseminated the message of the anniversary to the entire public. Then came the Arabic civilization Day held on 13th October, 2012 which included Adhan, Qur’an recitation and memorization competitions. Many Muslim and Arabic schools from far and wide of the nation participated. The winners parted with fantastic prizes.

Another programme of the anniversary was the Quiz and Debate competitions for over twenty schools across the South–Western states of the federation which was anchored by Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI) Lagos on 20th November, 2012. The Anniversary activities end with the Grand Finale on 15th December, 2012 with awards, prizes, Magazine presentation, fund raising and commissioning of CSR (water supply) to the Odosengolu Community.

The educational philosophy of VA is such that it links the students up with both this world and the hereafter, constantly reminding them of the purpose of their creation. The multi-cultural background of the staff and students makes it possible to adapt a comparative approach and to shape much of the learning process through dialogue and friendly interaction.

Each year, Vanguards Academy admits students into Junior Secondary School (JSS) 1. Such students must have attained age 10 and also be in their terminal classes. The School Management traditionally advertises admission space in some national newspapers and through other means such as leaflets and its website. The admission policy of the citadel has no geographical limitation. Students abound in the school from within the country, across the geo-political regions, and across the shored of the nation.More
