Hajarat Abiodun Alli, an alumnus of this great citadel of learning from the G33 set, has won the 2021 prize for literature organised by the former minister of youths’ development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.
Her story titled, Lost In The Blind Man’s Corner made the top ten entries in September and the top three entries in October before the story finally emerged as the winning entry in November.
This is coming after the success of a short film written by her titled ‘Monitoring Spirits’ which was produced by the Ebony Life Creative Academy and has been screened in many film festivals.
Hajarat has always won 1st place in Literature among many other subjects throughout her times in Vanguards Academy. She was also in charge of writing and directing school plays and overseeing the activities of the press club. In SS3, she became the head girl of the school.
She was also a teacher in Vanguards Academy for one year before she proceeded for her post graduate program.
Vanguards Academy has always supported her dreams and determination and will continue to do so.
